I am also impressed that there are people willing to sell these beautiful pieces at what seem to be such reasonable prices. I looked at the Home Shopping Network’s online auction and again it seemed aimed at your fashionable South Seas Islands native, gaudy and difficult to evaluate, not something I’d want to give a significant other, or any other, and definitely not investment grade. I would be proud to give my wife any one of the tasteful pieces I saw listed on Panvisionary. With that in mind, I looked at diamond rings listed at auction on Ebay. There essentially seemed to be two extremes: obviously valuable, tasteful and costing over $1,000, or the cheap and gaudy. Again, think South Sea Islanders. In some cases, I’d have to call it expensive trash. From my own experience with coins, I know that if you have been misled, and you have bought a counterfeit, it is your tough luck. Let the buyer beware.
